Periklis Filippou
Biography
Periklis established Verity Capital with a clear aim: to provide institutional-level financial services to segments often underserved by traditional Private Banks.
His 20-year tenure in the financial sector in London covers diverse areas, from Front Office Market Risk Management and Global Markets to Investment Banking and Private Wealth Management.
In his role at Citi Private Bank, Periklis managed investments for Greek clients, overseeing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio. He was previously the Head of Global Markets for Greek institutional clients.
With Nomura and Lehman Brothers, Periklis worked on Emerging Markets client coverage and led the Central Eastern European business, offering solutions in Fixed Income, Equities, Currencies, and Commodities; always on the institutional side.
His professional journey began at Barclays Capital, where, as part of the bank’s graduate program, he monitored derivatives counterparty exposures for Barclays.
Periklis holds a BSc in Accounting & Finance from the University of Macedonia, where he graduated top of his class and was awarded several governmental scholarships. He furthered his education with an MSc in Financial Engineering and Quantitative Analysis from the ICMA Centre, Reading, and achieved an Investment Advice Diploma at Level 4.
He is fluent in English and a Greek Native Speaker.
Periklis believes in attentive listening over pushing products. He hated politics in the banks and champions results based meritocracy.
Rather than viewing himself as a typical Private Banker, Periklis identifies more as a Risk Manager. This perspective heavily influences the way Verity Capital’s portfolios are structured. At the core, Verity Capital operates within the realm of wealth preservation, ensuring that clients’ assets are not only grown but safeguarded.
Beyond the professional sphere, Periklis is dedicated to his regular basketball sessions and boxing classes.
